Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports
- Follow resident’s rights policies to promote dignity, privacy, and autonomy at all times
Experience
- Prior assisted living or nursing home experience preferred, especially in geriatrics or long-term care environments
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Knowledge of safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is a plus
- Experience operating standard passenger cars for client transportation or community outings
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams in home & community care settings
