About The Role
Myticas Consulting is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Low/Medium Voltage) to support a leading infrastructure/industrial client. You'll work on complex facility and infrastructure projects, designing and analyzing low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems (up to 38kV), generation, protection, and related building systems.
In this role, you'll take ownership of electrical design packages, perform detailed power system studies, and ensure designs meet stringent technical, safety, and regulatory standards. You'll also mentor junior engineers, contribute to proposals and client presentations, and help shape best practices and technical documentation for a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs from concept through construction for power distribution, protection, generation systems, facility power, and renewable/sustainability solutions
- Perform power system studies and electrical calculations for lighting, communications, fire alarm, security, and related building systems
- Conduct site reviews/surveys, verify design alignment with project specifications and codes, and update requirements and drawings as needed
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and white papers to support internal knowledge management and client deliverables
- Collaborate with project teams to respond to RFPs, support client engagement, and participate in industry conferences and events
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical training to junior engineers; may supervise junior staff on projects
Requirements
- Based in, or willing to work on-site from, Latham, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; or Manhattan, NY
- Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience focused on power distribution or related building/industrial electrical systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a closely related field
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering in at least one U.S. state
- Hands-on experience designing low- and medium-voltage (up to 38kV) power distribution systems for facilities or infrastructure projects
- Experience performing power system analysis (e.g., load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination) using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar tools
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, or transit facilities
- Knowledge and practical application of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.)
- Proficiency with computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software, including 3D/4D tools such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience designing or reviewing lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, and security systems for facilities
- Strong skills in preparing technical documentation, reports, and white papers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and solid understanding of core engineering design principles
