Dealership Accounting Clerk – Rockwall County Volkswagen

Rockwall County Volkswagen is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dealership Accounting Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for handling various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the dealership’s daily accounting operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
• Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and financial records.
• Assist with vehicle sales paperwork, including posting deals and verifying documentation.
• Prepare and process invoices, payments, and refunds.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reporting tasks.
• Prepare daily deposits and verify cash receipts.
• Work closely with the Controller and management team to ensure compliance with accounting procedures.
• Support end-of-month and end-of-year financial closing processes.
• Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in automotive dealership accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and dealership accounting software (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a dealership setting.
