We are looking for an Associate SDET with 1–3 years of experience in test automation and quality engineering. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in TypeScript and Playwright for building and maintaining automated test scripts for modern web applications. Strong candidates typically build and maintain automated UI tests with Playwright and TypeScript, investigate failures, and contribute to practical test strategies and reusable automation suites.
Role overview
This role will focus on validating web application quality through automation, functional testing, and close collaboration with developers, QA, and product teams. Similar Playwright-focused SDET roles commonly emphasize reliable end-to-end automation, API test coverage, debugging flaky tests, and supporting regression quality across fast-moving releases.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript for web applications.
Execute functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing across application features and workflows.
Create reusable test components, page object models, and scalable automation suites to improve maintainability.
Validate application behavior across different browsers and user scenarios using Playwright.
Perform API testing for REST services and verify request/response flows as part of end-to-end validation.
Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve defects and flaky automation issues.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, test planning, defect tracking, and release validation activities.
Contribute to CI/CD-based test execution and support overall code quality and release confidence. Playwright-oriented SDET roles often expect familiarity with Git and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
Required skills
1–3 years of experience in software testing or test automation.
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript.
Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation.
Good understanding of web application testing, functional testing, and regression testing.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser behavior.
Experience with API testing and validating backend integrations. API test creation is a common expectation in Playwright-based QA automation roles.
Familiarity with Git, defect tracking tools, and Agile development processes.
Good problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred skills
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Playwright SDET job postings frequently list these tools as relevant for automated test execution in pipelines.
Exposure to page object model, data-driven testing, and reusable test framework design.
Basic knowledge of manual testing, test case design, and defect lifecycle management.
