Job Title: Color Design 3 – Basketball Footwear
Location: Beaverton, OR(Onsite — 4/1 Hybrid, Typical Work Hours)
Duration: 6 Months
ABOUT THE TEAM
Individual contributor role on the basketball footwear color design team, reporting into the footwear expression team under the VP of Basketball (women's & men's). You'll work cross-functionally with design, product management and development partners, with a direct team of ~10.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A color designer to support seasonal direction work and help drive compelling new color theories in basketball footwear. You'll be a versatile creative problem solver who excels under tight deadlines, has a strong understanding of emerging design and fashion trends, and brings extensive knowledge of color theory, textiles and material applications. 3–5 years' minimum experience required in a similar role. Degree preferred (or a suitable combination of education, experience and training).
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Support seasonal direction work and drive new color theories across basketball footwear
Develop color design and direction across seasonal assortments, building storytelling through color
Partner with Product Management to build trend-driven narratives for target consumers
Partner with Development to communicate design intent, support schematic creation and review, and workshop prototypes
Manage and design presentation materials; present concepts to teams and leadership
Collaborate across footwear and apparel color and design counterparts
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Footwear color design counterparts, apparel design, Product Management, and Development teams, with regular exposure to senior leadership and external partners (athletes and collaborators).
MUST-HAVE
3–5 years' minimum experience in a similar color design role
Expertise in Adobe Illustrator
Photoshop
Good foundation/knowledge of textiles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
