What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sourcing Specialist position at HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm?
This role will supplement the manager’s existing sourcing team and perform the same functions as current team members. The Sourcing Specialist will support large capital and onsite services projects across the nuclear fleet and manage end-to-end strategic sourcing activities, rather than a single defined project.
The role is highly collaborative but requires the ability to work independently, manage a personal backlog, and proactively communicate with stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate sourcing requests and intake documentation
- Ensure compliance, required approvals, and risk assessments are completed
- Develop contracts and negotiate pricing, scope, and terms
- Run sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, bids)
- Execute purchase orders and support invoice issue resolution
- Manage supplier performance and recovery plans
- Maintain complete nuclear contract records with life-of-plant documentation retention
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support internal control processes
Work Environment & Compliance
- Supports nuclear facilities (administrative offices only — not protected plant areas)
- Enhanced background screening, drug testing, and nuclear data access screening required
- U.S. citizenship required due to export control regulations
Must Have Skills:
- Strategic sourcing or purchasing experience
- Contract negotiation and supplier management
- Experience supporting large, complex projects
- Strong Microsoft Word (advanced formatting), Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to manage workload independently with minimal oversight
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Attention to detail and high accountability
Nice to Have / Preferred:
- SAP experience
- Coupa or other e-sourcing/contract management tools
- Nuclear industry familiarity
- CPSM (or equivalent) certification
