Job Description:
We are seeking an E&C Engineer (Quality Control Engineer) to support large-scale power generation projects. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards across engineering and construction (E&C) initiatives.
The ideal candidate will ensure proper installation, startup, and commissioning of equipment, helping to prevent rework, reduce warranty risks, and improve overall project quality. This position offers exposure to multiple projects and technologies within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and support execution of the organization’s quality program across generation projects
- Participate in project reviews, inspections, and quality planning activities
- Develop and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans
- Conduct site inspections, walkdowns, and contractor quality reviews
- Identify construction or installation defects and drive resolution
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers
- Track quality issues, document findings, and ensure timely corrective actions
- Support project teams during startup and commissioning phases
- Review project schedules, plans, and quality reports to ensure compliance
Typical Work Environment
Office Work:
- Project plan and schedule reviews
- Quality program updates and reporting
- Documentation and analysis
Field Work:
- Site visits to power plants
- Equipment inspections and installation oversight
- Contractor coordination and shop visits
This role requires working in both office and field environments, including industrial sites with appropriate safety protocols (PPE required).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred; Civil/Structural acceptable)
- 3–7 years of experience in QA/QC, engineering, or construction environments
- Experience in power generation, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors
- Knowledge of inspection/testing procedures and defect identification
- Strong understanding of construction and installation processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Quality auditing experience
- Welding inspection certification (CWI)
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial QA environments
- Drafting or technical drawing experience
