Overview
We are seeking a data-driven analyst to support market planning and development strategy within a fast-paced retail/QSR environment. This role focuses on analysing store performance, evaluating site opportunities, and building dashboards to deliver actionable insights that guide expansion, optimisation, and portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities
- Analyse new stores, remodels, relocations, and closures to identify key drivers of success, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to track development activity, pipeline status, market planning progress, and key market-level KPIs.
- Correlate market planning data with cross-functional metrics (operations, marketing, HR, digital, finance, and customer insights) to understand drivers of store performance.
- Partner with franchisees, development managers, and leadership to provide clear insights and recommendations for openings, relocations, closures, and portfolio optimisation.
- Evaluate site quality including trade zones, catchment areas, demographics, competition, customer accessibility, and cannibalisation risks.
- Monitor key development metrics such as opening performance, ramp-up curves, sales density, store productivity, remodel impact, and competitive performance.
- Support post-opening reviews to assess performance gaps and improve future site selection and market planning decisions.
- Identify white-space opportunities, underpenetrated areas, and priority growth zones to support long-term market expansion strategies.
- Enhance market planning methodologies, tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to improve consistency and decision-making across markets.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in data analysis, market planning, or site analytics within retail, QSR, or a similar multi-location business.
- Proficiency in Power BI and data visualisation tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate insights into business recommendations.
- Understanding of market dynamics, trade zones, and location strategy.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with franchise or multi-unit business models.
- Familiarity with performance metrics such as sales density, store productivity, and portfolio optimisation.
- Experience supporting real estate, development, or expansion planning teams.
