- We are seeking a Medical Surgical Nurse
- Location:- Herrin, IL 62948
- Contract Duration:- 13 weeks
- Shift:- Nights
- Pay range:- $71.89 to $74.55/hr.
Required Qualifications:-
- Must have experience with Med/surg Nurse
- Must have RN State license in IL
- BLS by AHA and NIHSS certification
- DL Copy and Covid Vaccination
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform venipuncture with aseptic technique.
- Manage airway care, ventilator support, tube feeding, catheterization, ostomy care, and wound suturing as needed.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/ICD-10/CPT).
- Perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests and specimen collection/processing.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as ICU (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), cardiac catheterization, dialysis, hospice & palliative medicine, infectious disease care, and neurocritical care.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordinate post-acute or home & community care services.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication management, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies.
- Maintain strict infection control practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with physicians during procedures such as spinal taps or dermal fillers in outpatient or ambulatory surgery center settings.
- Support triage efforts in emergency room or urgent care environments; respond effectively to acute pain management needs.
- Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), geriatrics (memory/dementia/Alzheimer’s care), behavioral health patients, individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
