Salary: $60-$70/hr

About the Role

Bad pipelines cost everyone downstream. This Data Engineer III role is for someone who builds them right the first time and keeps them fast. You will own ETL/ELT pipeline design and optimization on AWS, working across relational and NoSQL data and turning messy, unstructured datasets into something the business can actually use.

This is a senior, hands-on seat with room to lead. You will run root cause analysis to answer real business questions, partner with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment, and mentor junior engineers as you go. If you like owning the data layer end to end and being the person others trust to get it right, this fits.

What You'll Do

• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and data models on AWS.
• Work across relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Develop processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency identification, and workload management.
• Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer business questions and surface opportunities for improvement.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage code through version control.
• Work with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data stores.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS experience, including Spark/Glue. Redshift preferred.
• Deep SQL expertise across multiple relational and NoSQL database solutions.
• Proven ability to optimize ETL/ELT pipelines and design data models.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Strong analytic skills working with unstructured datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
• AWS Data Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
