A large nonprofit acute care hospital in the Inland Empire is looking for a strong, hands-on Executive Director of Patient Financial Services to lead hospital billing, collections, denials, and cash flow operations. This is a high-visibility role reporting to the CFO with real impact on the hospital’s financial health. What You’ll Do
- Lead daily operations of the entire Patient Financial Services team (hospital billing, collections, insurance follow-up, denial management, cash posting, bad debt, and patient financial counseling)
- Build and maintain efficient, compliant revenue cycle systems that maximize reimbursement
- Partner closely with Patient Access/Admissions and other departments to improve front-to-back revenue cycle performance
- Drive key metrics (A/R days, denial rates, cash collections) and mentor a high-performing PFS management team
- Ensure full compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care, and all regulatory requirements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Healthcare Administration, or related — preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in large hospital Patient Financial Services or Revenue Cycle
- Strong expertise with multiple California payers (especially Medi-Cal and managed care)
- Proven ability to lead large teams, solve problems, and implement process improvements
- Comfortable with automation tools and Microsoft Office Suite
