JOB SUMMARY:
Must be able to prepare estimates, with minimal supervision, for projects ranging from small to large in industrial environments. Will work directly with customers to obtain necessary information to successfully prepare estimates for review by Upper Management.
As an Estimator you will handle all functions of the estimating process from receipt of the RFQ to walking the project to determining the needed resources and developing a full estimate.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Attend site walk through for RFQ’s and assorted proposals to effectively determine execution strategies.
- Work in conjunction with Field Operations to determine availability of resources and effectively translate constraints into the estimate being developed
- Interpret and cipher drawings to determine scope of work and properly determine most effective method of approach
- Work with customer to ensure a clear understanding of their needs
- Thoroughly prepare estimate to ensure all items are accounted for:
- Labor
- Equipment
- Materials
- Take Offs
- Taxes
- Identify suppliers that will be the most cost effective for execution of the project through evaluation of quality, safety, pricing and delivery
- For assigned projects, organize and lead Bid review with Upper Management.
- Participate in handover/transition meeting to Project Management.
- Maintain files of working documents and quotations for back-up to estimating figures.
- Work with team members, as needed, to assist with other estimates being prepared.
- Assist with awarded contracts as required - may include budget creation, estimating change orders, etc.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
- Must be able to work extended hours with minimal notice to adjust to workload demands
- Must be focused on working in a Team environment centered around a culture of Safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A four-year construction, engineering or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience, plus four years estimating, project control, or engineering experience related to company’s core competency. Typical career tenure; year 5-10
Salary : $85,000 - $130,000
