Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to accurately process medical claims, post payments, and actively follow up on outstanding accounts in a high-volume, fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Submit medical claims through billing software and clearinghouses in a timely and accurate manner
- Apply PPS billing rules, including appropriate modifiers, value codes, and occurrence codes
- Review remittance advice to investigate denials and identify root causes
- Correct, resubmit, and track claims to resolution
- Follow up on outstanding claims through payer portals and phone calls
- Draft and submit professional appeals for denied claims, with a focus on authorization-related issues
- Identify missing, invalid, or delayed authorizations and escalate issues as appropriate
- Communicate recurring billing issues, payer trends, or system errors to supervisors
- Review, reconcile, and manage assigned aging reports on a monthly basis
- Utilize Excel, PDFs, and standard computer applications to track and report billing activity
- Independently troubleshoot claim issues while collaborating with team leads and supervisors
- Maintain accuracy and productivity while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Biller
- 1 year supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proven problem-solving abilities related to billing and claim resolution
- Proficiency with Excel, medical billing software, and clearinghouse systems
Compensation: $65,000-75,000 DOE
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Medical billing: 4 years (Required)
- Supervisor/Leader: 1 year (Preferred)
