Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the organization’s corporate accounting and financial reporting activities. This position will have responsibility for a variety of general accounting functions while also contributing to external reporting requirements and broader Finance initiatives.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with members of the Accounting and Finance teams throughout the monthly and quarterly reporting cycles. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with detailed financial information, managing multiple deadlines, and taking ownership of assigned areas from initial preparation through final review.
This is an opportunity for an accounting professional to gain exposure across corporate accounting, SEC reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement while working within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for assigned accounts and transactions.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.
- Analyze general ledger activity and research variances to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Support the collection, preparation, and validation of financial information used in external reporting.
- Review financial statements, schedules, and supporting materials for consistency and accuracy.
- Assist with accounting research and the evaluation of transactions under applicable U.S. GAAP guidance.
- Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation requested as part of internal and external audits.
- Work with colleagues across Finance and other departments to obtain information needed for accounting and reporting activities.
- Help maintain appropriate documentation and internal controls surrounding assigned accounting processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring accounting activities and improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.
- Assist with accounting system initiatives, reporting enhancements, and other Finance projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- SEC reporting experience required.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve accounting issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or financial reporting systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work within established deadlines.
- Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting, finance, and cross-functional teams.
Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
