Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting across the organization. This position will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while supporting a strong control environment and providing meaningful financial insights to leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to help build a scalable accounting function in a growing business.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3-4 Days In-Office)
Base Salary: $130k - $150k
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, including journal entries, accruals, estimates, reconciliations, and review of team output.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Research accounting guidance and determine appropriate treatment for new or complex transactions.
- Oversee accounts receivable activities, including billing, collections, and cash application, to support working capital objectives.
- Supervise accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, coding accuracy, and expense policy compliance.
- Perform budget-to-actual and trend analysis, identify key drivers of variances, and present findings to leadership.
- Evaluate spending patterns and recommend cost-saving opportunities or operational improvements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to protect company assets and support compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including prioritizing workloads and providing ongoing feedback.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Assist leadership with ad hoc reporting, special projects, and cross-functional financial support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Active CPA or progress toward CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with accounting software and finance automation tools preferred.
- Proven ability to analyze financial information and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information.
