Law firm is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join their New York office.
Responsibilities
Salary Range: $100-110K
Responsibilities
- Pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial filings
- Draft, revise, proofread, redline, and finalize legal documents and correspondence for attorney review
- Prepare and assemble binders and files for hearings, depositions, meetings, and trials
- Manage and maintain multiple attorney calendars
- Handle State and Federal court filings
- Assist with client engagement and retention, including conflict checks, engagement letters, waivers, and matter openings
- Enter attorney time, prepare billing submissions, coordinate with Accounting, and distribute monthly invoices to clients
- Process attorney expense reports
- Provide overflow litigation support to attorneys across offices as needed
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of litigation experience in a mid-sized or large law firm required
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (2016 or later), including styles, track changes, document comparison, Tables of Contents, and Tables of Authorities
- Federal & state e-filings experience required
- Solid understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, legal terminology, and client billing practices
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
