The RDA supports dentists by assisting with procedures, maintaining a sterile and organized environment, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Candidates must hold a valid Oklahoma Registered Dental Assistant License and demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and adaptability in diverse practice settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update them with new information as necessary.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize the efficiency of the practice.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
- Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in the management of dental emergencies and provide CPR/BLS as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external partners, with bilingual skills being a plus.
Required Education:
- Registered Dental Assistant License by State
- Maintain renewal of licensing
- CPR BLS certification
- Annual Continuing Education (CE) as required by state
Required Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting
