Vice President, Research & Development (R&D)

We are partnering with a growing healthcare technology organization that is actively investing in AI, platform modernization, and next-generation product innovation.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Vice President of R&D to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of a core Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) platform. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on how technology, data, and AI shape the future of the business.

What You’ll Own
Technology Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute the R&D and engineering roadmap aligned to business and product goals
- Lead the transition toward AI-first development and modern architecture
- Partner with executive leadership across product, operations, and technology
- Identify opportunities to innovate, automate, and scale across the platform
AI & Innovation Leadership
- Drive adoption of AI/ML capabilities across both product features and internal development workflows
- Champion initiatives around automation, intelligent workflows, and predictive capabilities
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance speed, quality, and competitive differentiation
Platform Modernization
- Lead transformation of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-based platforms
- Oversee architecture, integrations, and system performance
- Ensure solutions are built for scalability, reliability, and security
Team Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing, distributed engineering and R&D teams
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Drive alignment across engineering, product, and business stakeholders
Healthcare & RCM Leadership
- Apply deep expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
- Oversee solutions supporting claims processing, billing, and payer-provider workflows
- Ensure alignment with healthcare regulations and industry standards
What You Bring
Leadership Experience
- 10 years leading engineering or R&D organizations
- Proven success scaling teams and driving transformation or modernization initiatives
Technical Expertise
- Strong background in software engineering, architecture, and platform design
- Experience across both legacy systems and modern cloud environments
- Exposure to AI/ML and its application within engineering organizations
Healthcare Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
- Experience with:
- Claims lifecycle and billing processes
- EDI / X12 transactions
- EMR/EHR or practice management systems
AI & Innovation Mindset
- Passion for leveraging AI to improve both product capabilities and development velocity
- Experience driving or implementing AI-enabled initiatives
- Forward-thinking perspective on how AI is transforming healthcare technology
