No 3rd Parties or Visas will be accepted for this role
Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
Hire Elevation Resources is partnering with a forward-thinking organization at a pivotal stage—modernizing a core platform while investing heavily in AI-driven development practices.
This is a unique opportunity for a systems-minded software engineer who can operate across both platform stability and next-generation innovation. You’ll play a critical role in supporting a legacy system in transition while helping design and build modern, scalable solutions powered by AI.
This role goes beyond traditional development—we’re seeking someone who can understand the bigger picture, navigate complexity, and use AI as a true force multiplier.
What You’ll Do
Platform Stability & System Ownership (Near-Term Focus) 30% Focus
- Provide technical oversight for a legacy platform as it transitions toward modernization
- Partner with a small, agile team to ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime
- Troubleshoot production issues and help guide resolution across application, infrastructure, and data layers
- Act as a technical escalation point during incidents—bringing clarity, direction, and ownership
- Identify opportunities to streamline support and reduce long-term maintenance overhead
Modernization & AI-Driven Development (Future Focus) 70% Focus
- Design and build modern, scalable applications aligned to evolving product needs
- Leverage AI-assisted and agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate engineering workflows
- Apply AI tools across both existing codebases and greenfield development
- Translate product direction into effective prompts, workflows, and technical execution
- Help define and implement AI-first engineering best practices across the team
What We’re Looking For
Core Engineering Experience
- 4–8 years of software development experience (backend or full-stack)
- Strong experience supporting and debugging production systems
- Exposure to cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps environments
- Ability to think beyond code and understand system-wide interactions
Healthcare Domain Experience (Highly Preferred)
- Working knowledge of revenue cycle management (RCM) processes (e.g., patient intake, billing, claims, reimbursement)
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and practice management platforms
- Understanding of how technical systems support healthcare operations and financial workflows
- Experience working in environments where data integrity, uptime, and compliance are critical
AI-Assisted Development Mindset (Key Differentiator)
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) in real-world development
- Ability to guide, prompt, and refine AI-generated code to meet production standards
- Experience applying AI tools to both legacy systems and new application development
- Strong intuition for leveraging AI to improve speed, quality, and problem-solving
Note: This is not a machine learning or model-building role. We are seeking an AI-enabled engineer who uses these tools to enhance software development—not build models from scratch.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You’re a systems thinker who can operate across multiple layers of technology
- You bring a broad technical perspective, not just a narrow development focus
- You’re comfortable stepping in during ambiguity or critical issues and helping guide resolution
- You take ownership and proactively identify ways to improve systems and processes
- You’re excited about using AI as a practical tool to build faster and smarter
What Success Looks Like
- You stabilize and extend the life of a legacy platform while reducing support burden
- You introduce AI-driven workflows that accelerate engineering velocity
- You become a trusted technical leader during system issues or key decisions
- You help bridge the gap between healthcare workflows and technical execution
- You contribute to building a modern, scalable platform positioned for future growth
Why This Role
- Join a company actively investing in AI-driven innovation
- Work on both mission-critical systems and next-generation platform development
- High visibility role with direct collaboration with leadership
- Real ownership and impact—this is not a heads-down coding role
Interview Process
- Introductory conversation with leadership
- Technical discussion focused on real-world problem solving
- Streamlined decision-making process for the right candidate
If you're looking for a role where you can bridge legacy systems with modern AI-driven development, we’d love to connect.
