High School Van Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and dependable High School Van Driver to safely transport students to and from various events and activities, and to perform all duties related to the safe operation of the van. This role is vital in ensuring safe transportation for students while providing excellent service that supports the educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school van to transport students according to scheduled routes and times.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers by following traffic laws and school policies.
• Drive the school van and transport students between pick-up points and school or to various activities.
• Be in full charge of the van at all times and report any student behavioral issues or needs to the Principal or designee.
• Check, clean, and perform minor servicing of van.
• Check gas, battery, oil and water before departure.
• Check vehicle for operating safety.
• Complete all provided checklists.
• Adhere to established routes, designated stops and keep to assigned time schedule.
• Transport only authorized students.
• Obey all traffic laws and observe mandatory safety regulations.
• Protect confidentially of records and information concerning students and staff.
• Attend mandatory safety/training programs and meetings.
• Performs other specific job-related duties as assigned.
• Respond promptly to any emergencies or safety concerns during transit.

Requirements

• Valid NH driver’s license with a minimum of three years previous safe driving experience.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on safety and professionalism.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for transporting minors.
• Must pass background checks and an employment physical.

This position is approximately 15 - 20 hours per week. The exact hours may vary according to needs.
