Position Summary
The Assistant House Manager assists in the day-to-day operations of the home, staff supervision, and oversight of client care. This is an hourly, on-site position and requires availability to respond to emergencies, including nights and weekends when needed.
Hinge Point Youth Homes serves up to eight children living in a children’s residential program. These children range in age from 7-17 and are often a part of the foster care system. They have support needs such as medical, behavioral, developmental and basic living skills. As a House Manager, you would be part of a clinical team to provide the most appropriate and evidence-based services for the children. The House Manager will receive formal and on the job training in how to best meet the needs of each individual child and lead a team of 10-12 Direct Care Specialists. Most importantly, the House Manager will engage with each child to ensure that they are having positive experiences both in the home and in the community.

Applicants will need to be able and comfortable with assisting residents with personal care and hygiene needs. Competitive candidates will demonstrate a desire to support these children in positive growth and development through developing positive relationships with the children in the home. Competitive candidates will also have a willingness to work with and follow guidance from clinical staff and contribute to programing and behavioral plans implemented for each individual. Finally, competitive staff will also have the desire to support the children in extracurricular activities and fun community outings.

Key Responsibilities
- 1. Cleaning- Deep organization, talking with staff about cleaning, bringing cleaning
- issues to House attention, asking Mckinna for cleaning supplies, checking bleach
- water potency, organizing cleaning supplies,
- 2. Activities- Organizing activity supplies, requesting supplies for activities
- 3. Training- Helping to train, being a good example to the other staff, promoting
- teamwork and positivity,
- 4. Routines- updating routine charts as needed,
- 5. Any other tasks as needed by the house manager
- 6. Covering general house issues/question in the absence of house manager
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with special needs individuals
- Strong understanding of clinical concepts related to caring for special needs children
- Leadership experience in residential or group care settings preferred
- Ability to respond to crises and travel to the home at any hour if required
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Must be over 19 years of age
- Be able to pass an enhanced background check
- Have good communication skills
- Adhere to the alcohol, drug and tobacco policy, which is no substances allowed on the property or in the presence of children.
Compensation
- $16-$16.50/hour
