Key Responsibilities
- Develop, calibrate, and validate engine and powertrain control strategies for gasoline, diesel, hybrid, or electrified powertrains.
- Perform calibration activities for torque management, fuel control, spark timing, air handling, cold start, emissions, OBD, transmission integration, and drivability.
- Execute vehicle, dynamometer, and test-cell calibration development and validation activities.
- Analyze test data using calibration and data acquisition tools to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support emissions certification and regulatory compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain calibration documentation, reports, and release records.
- Collaborate with controls engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in vehicle testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
- Support launch activities and provide technical assistance during prototype and production phases.
- Ensure calibration releases meet program timing, quality, and performance targets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in powertrain calibration, engine controls, or vehicle controls development.
- Experience with calibration tools such as: (ETAS INCA, CANape. ATI Vision, ControlDesk)
- Knowledge of: (Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), Management Systems, Powertrain Control Modules (PCM), OBD Diagnostics. Emissions Regulations, Vehicle Drivability)
- Experience with CAN communication and vehicle network diagnostics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Excel, or Python.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
