What You'll Do...

The Electromechanical Engineer designs, develops, and improves mechanical and electromechanical systems used in HindlePower products. This role combines mechanical design expertise with an understanding of electrical and power electronic systems to deliver robust, production-ready solutions that enhance performance, reduce cost, and increase manufacturability. The engineer will contribute to both new product development and continuous improvement of existing designs.

  • Design and improve new and existing products to enhance performance, reduce cost, and increase manufacturability. Responsibilities include developing optimizations for the EPIC and ATevo product lines, generating detailed engineering drawings, and updating work instructions and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Collaborate across engineering, quality, and manufacturing to deliver production-ready designs that meet industry-leading standards.
  • Create custom parts and assemblies to meet customer-specific requirements and work closely with shop personnel to communicate design changes and new product options.
  • Conduct structural analysis for static and dynamic loading conditions, improving product resistance to vibration, transit, and seismic activity.
  • Work closely with purchasing to ensure timely procurement of new or custom components.
  • Collaborate with sheet metal fabricators to balance cost efficiency with quality.
  • Coordinate with order entry to complete custom drawing packages within customer deadlines.
  • Implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to enhance design and manufacturability.
  • Support the test department in troubleshooting and resolving issues identified during product testing and update documentation accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and production-ready documentation, including revision notes, interface drawings, and release packages.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to modernize design methods, tools, and standards.

What You Bring...

Desired Requirements

  • BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical design.
  • Understanding of power electronic systems and ability to interpret schematics.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including the ability to manage large assemblies.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar 2D drafting software.
  • Strong background in sheet metal design and fabrication principles.
  • Experience in new product development from concept through production.

Preferred Additional Requirements

  • Systems-level integration and design experience.
  • Familiarity with thermal management and power electronics packaging best practices.
  • Hands-on fabrication or construction experience.
  • Experience performing FEA analysis on component assemblies.
  • Understanding of HVAC systems.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Made2Manage a plus).
