- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 months of cooking experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel
- Experience preparing food for à la carte service, buffets, banquets, and hors d’oeuvres
- Experience opening and setting up a kitchen station for service
- Preparing sauces, soups, buffet entrées, and transitioning between meal periods
- Cooking orders accurately and promptly as received from waitstaff
- Learning and executing menus, recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards
- Proper food storage and temperature control
- Preparing appropriate quantities of food based on business needs
- Supporting other kitchen departments as needed
- Advance prep for upcoming shifts as directed
- Maintaining compliance with state, county, and company health and safety regulations
