What are the responsibilities and job description for the AM Hotel Shuttle Driver/Public Area Attendant position at Hilton Garden Inn Kalispell?
The shuttle driver is responsible for safely, professionally, and reliably transporting hotel guests to and from designated locations, ensuring a comfortable and timely shuttle service experience. In addition, the shuttle driver serves as a Public Space Attendant cleaning the inside and/or outside of the hotel and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate the hotel shuttle vehicle to transport guests between the hotel and local destinations.
- Maintain a clean and safe shuttle vehicle at all times. This includes washing inside and out, vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, etc.
- Assist guests with luggage and provide excellent customer service.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to management.
- Maintain accurate records of shuttle trips and schedules.
- Check the tires, lights, wiper fluid, and oil on a regular basis for safety purposes.
- Report any incidents or accidents to the appropriate person or authority.
- Assist passengers with special needs, including the elderly or people with disabilities.
- Serve as a Public Space Attendant cleaning the inside and/or outside of the hotel and grounds, when not required for shuttle services (see Public Space Attendant job description).
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area to effectively assist guests.
- Understand and apply all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
- Ensure that guest issues, shuttle related and otherwise, are dealt with appropriately. If outside bounds of authority, promptly bring the matter to the attention of hotel management.
- Proactively look for opportunities to improve operations.
- Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken; also, provide potential solutions to the problems noticed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policy and procedures, safety procedures, Health Department, and other regulatory requirements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Subject to company drug, smoking, and alcohol-free standards, and pre-hire, random, and for cause testing.
- Strong knowledge of Kalispell, MT area and surrounding routes.
- Reading; ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Maintains emotional control under stress.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills. Friendly and cheerful; interacts easily with strangers.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and grooming meeting company standards.
- Serves, reacts quickly and adjusts to different guest situations.
- Accepts directions and priorities from supervisor and reliably follows-through on tasks.
- Performs job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest.
- Cooperates with and supports others.
- Works independently with little supervision.
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including clear English speech, ability to drive shuttle; repetitive hand motions; shift work. Frequent standing, walking, and/or climbing; excellent vision and hearing; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently during a shift; stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, sitting for long periods of time, work outside and inside.
