As a Kitchen Helper, you will support daily food service operations that directly impact patient recovery, staff well-being, and overall hospital experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble meal trays according to diet orders and daily work assignments
• Wash, clean, and prepare vegetables and other food items for meal service
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to and from patient care areas
• Operate dishwashing equipment and perform cleaning of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and work areas
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas in compliance with safety standards
• Assist with food service for special events and perform other related duties as assigned

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices
  • Ability to learn kitchen equipment operation and quantity food preparation
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
