What are the responsibilities and job description for the Institutional Sales position at Hilltop Securities Inc.?
HilltopSecurities is looking to hire multiple Institutional Cash Sales Professionals in a variety of locations. This role will be responsible for opening, advising, servicing and growing institutional cash sales accounts.
HilltopSecurities’ Fixed Income department has over 2,000 Tier I institutional and middle market clients in all 50 states. Our current focus is on three classes of fixed income investments—municipal, taxable, and securitized products, where we access a wide range of investment products for our clients, such as GSE agencies, CMOs, CP, municipals, and corporate and mortgage-backed municipal securities.
It is our desire to build and grow an institutional cash platform via a distinct sales group focusing on the front end of the market. We currently offer a broad range of institutional cash products including a white-label money market portal powered by Treasury Curve, third party money market funds distribution agreements, a proprietary Commercial Paper book and secondary CP, brokered CDs, and separately managed cash accounts, where our current AUM approximates $34.7 billion. In addition, as described in the first paragraph above, we can also provide direct institutional brokerage services to institutional cash clients who desire such services.

Our department participates in syndication and primary issuance, as well as three types of sales and trading—fixed income, securitized products, and investment grade and high yield. Our capabilities also include supporting the primary issuance of negotiated and competitive securities, HFA pooled securities, and state HFA CMOs.

Responsibilities
- Opening accounts and selling to the private and public intuitional client base
- Relationship management of your clients to continuously evaluate cash management needs and grow AUM
- Provide product with information on pricing and new product ideas
- 7 to 10 years' experience in institutional fixed income and/or financial services sales, with a strong rolodex highly preferred
- 4-year college degree required preferably in business, finance or economics
- Series 7 & 63, or willingness to quickly attain such licenses
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written and effective interpersonal skills.
