Job Summary

Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activity calendar that includes events focused on socialization, entertainment, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities aligned with residents’ preferences and abilities.
- Collaborate with caregivers, families, and external vendors to ensure activities meet individual care plans.
- Assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as needed during activities to promote independence and engagement.
- Manage scheduling logistics for activities, ensuring timely setup, execution, and cleanup while maintaining a safe environment.
- Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to continually improve programming quality.
- Lead recreational therapy sessions that incorporate therapeutic techniques for residents with dementia or disabilities.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all residents feel encouraged to participate regardless of mobility or cognitive challenges.
Experience
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of long-term care practices, home & community care experience, or caregiving roles related to aging populations.
- Strong communication skills necessary for engaging residents with diverse needs and collaborating effectively with staff and families.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting quickly to changing resident needs is critical for success in this role.
