Role Description
Hillstone Partners Insurance Agency is seeking a driven, growth-oriented Insurance Sales Agent for a full-time, on-site role in Los Angeles, CA. This opportunity is ideal for a sales professional who wants to build and grow a commercial book of business from scratch and establish themselves as a producer in the commercial insurance space. Hillstone will provide qualified leads to help agents production and focus on building and growing their book of business.
The primary focus of this role is business development — prospecting, generating opportunities, building relationships, and closing commercial insurance accounts. You will work with business owners in industries such as construction, transportation, janitorial, and manufacturing, helping them identify coverage needs and providing tailored insurance solutions.
This is a strong fit for someone who is hungry to produce and wants to create long-term income and career growth through business development. While client service, renewals, and policy support are part of the role, those responsibilities are secondary to the core objective of building a book.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, network, and generate new business opportunities with commercial clients
- Build and develop a book of business
- Present coverage options across Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Umbrella, Inland Marine, EPLI, and related lines
- Consistently follow up on leads, referrals, and pipeline opportunities
- Meet and exceed sales and production goals
- Provide a strong client experience throughout the sales process
- Support retention efforts and assist with renewals
Qualifications
- Strong sales ability with a proven track record or clear desire to grow through business development
- Confidence in prospecting, relationship building, and closing new business
- Experience in insurance sales, commercial insurance, or a related B2B sales environment preferred
- Understanding of commercial insurance products and coverage is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, competitive, and entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism with clients
- Organized and able to manage pipeline activity effectively
- State insurance license, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience working with blue-collar industries such as construction, transportation, janitorial, or manufacturing is a plus
