Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily functions of the Human Resources department, executes projects, and provides human resource guidance to employees and supervisors as assigned. The ability to effectively utilize critical thinking skills and independent judgment to accurately maintain essential records and reports per Federal, State, and Funder requirements per established protocols is essential to this role.
Essential Job Functions
Administer areas of human resources and employment law as assigned, including: Benefits, Compliance, Leave of Absences (FMLA, NYS and PFL), Workers Compensation, Compensation, HRIS operations.
Execute assigned human resource programs and projects.
Contribute to development of protocols, policies, and processes, including creation of communication to educate, inform and care for Hillside employees.
Respond to and resolve cases/issues utilizing Human Resources best practices and demonstrate alignment with Hillside’s organizational values, policies and protocols.
Develop and maintain thoroughly documented procedures that ensure efficient workflow and continuous process improvement within the Human Resource Department.
Participate in responding to annual surveys and benchmarking activities as required by Federal, State, funding agencies or agency need.
Maintain knowledge on state and federal laws and regulations.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
Special Requirements
Unrestricted, valid NYS driver’s license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards.
