Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify client needs and develop tailored treatment strategies.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and trauma-specific interventions.
- Implement behavioral health techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention to promote positive behaviors.
- Manage case documentation with accuracy while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines; maintain detailed medical records and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, facilitate case management activities, and ensure seamless service delivery for clients with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Engage in patient communication through intake processes, motivational interviewing, and ongoing client assessments to monitor progress and adjust treatment approaches accordingly.
- Support clients’ families by providing education on mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for home-based support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with adults whp suffer from mental health and substance use disorders
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and culturally competent counseling techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, and medical records management under HIPAA guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, family collaboration, and interdisciplinary team coordination.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols; skilled in conflict resolution and trauma-specific interventions.
