Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Body Shop Manager to join our fast-paced collision repair team. In this vital role, you will support the overall operations of the body shop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and exceptional customer service. Our shop services all vehicle sizes: cars, trucks, tractors, box trucks, and trailers. Ideal candidate will have experience with all vehicle types.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily body shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
- Support technicians in performing auto body repairs, including collision damage assessment, aluminum repairs, auto painting, and auto glass replacement.
- Coordinate with clients to communicate repair progress, clarify repair estimates generated through computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software, and address customer concerns professionally.
- Assist in diagnosing vehicle defects by conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting vehicle performance or safety.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, parts used, and labor hours while ensuring productivity.
Skills
- Proven dealership or collision repair shop experience with a strong background in automotive body refinishing and auto restoration.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto painting techniques, repair processes, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency with computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software and basic math skills for accurate calculations.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, metal fabrication equipment, and auto glass installation tools.
- Familiarity with automotive paints, aluminum repairs, collision repair techniques involving metalwork and detailing.
- Strong client communication skills to explain repair procedures clearly and manage customer expectations effectively.
- Ability to perform defect resolution root cause analysis to identify issues impacting vehicle safety or quality.
