Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with a valid current Michigan Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Keeps the hospital vehicle in working order. Responsible for the basic cleaning and checking fluids. Alerting the supervisor if something is wrong with the car
- Fills all physician supply orders and delivers supplies in a prompt manner
- Delivers all specimens to the lab while maintaining specimen integrity. Notifies staff of STAT specimens
- Promotes customer service and handles problems effectively that arise at the physician office
- Responds to physicians’ offices needs by delivering correspondence and picking up STATs when needed
- Completes all assigned tasks when needed
- Available for emergency situations that arise that a courier is needed to transport specimens if an instrument is down to another testing facility
- Documentation and recording specimens obtained at each office
- Maintains favorable attendance. Reports absences in accordance with the Employee Handbook in the manner prescribed by the Department Manager
- Recognizes job relationships and functions effectively within the organizational structure
- Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and other means to keep abreast of latest trends in the laboratory field
- Completes mandatory education and employee health screening on a timely basis
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
