Hillsdale Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team at Gier Elementary School. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff and families to provide individualized instruction and support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specially designed instruction that meets students’ individual learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a special education endorsement.
- Compliance with all applicable federal and state qualification requirements.
- Endorsement in Emotional Impairment (EI) or Cognitive Impairment (CI) preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to supporting the individual needs of elementary students.
