What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Special Education position at Elementary School?
Grade Levels: K-5
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education Endorsement
- Highly Qualified, as defined by the Michigan Department of Education
- Learning Disability endorsement and/or Emotional Impairment endorsement
- Experience developing, writing, and implementing IEPs
- Experience using Illuminate software
- Ability to communicate and consult with general education teachers to coordinate the implementation of IEP goals, including accommodations and modifications in the general education setting
- Knowledge of Common Core State Standards and experience in administering and interpreting assessments (NWEA, Acadience, STAR, state assessments, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in highly engaging instructional strategies, including the use of technology
Responsibilities:
- Inform instruction and communicate with parents and general education staff
- Communicate/Collaborate effectively with Special Education teachers and administrators
- Develop, write, and implement IEP’s
