Position Summary:
Hiring Salary Range: $16.47 to $18.11 per hour depending on qualifications.
Receives, counts, balances and process student payments for tuition, fees, scholarships, or other expenses. They are responsible for accurately handling cash, credit, and debit payments, issuing receipts and assisting students with payment inquiries, as well as providing customer service and maintaining financial records. Assist with other accounting tasks as required. Opens and closes office and may provide backup to supervisor during absences.
Job Duties:
- Receiving and verifying payments: Taking tuition, fees, scholarships and other payments from students. (20%)
- Recording transactions: Accurately recording all payments in the college’s accounting system. (20%)
- Issuing receipts: Providing receipts to students for all payments made. (5%)
- Assisting with payments plans: Helping students understand and utilize payment plans. (5%)
- Maintaining Cash drawer: Ensuring the cash drawer is properly managed and reconciled at the end of the day. (10%)
- Answering student inquiries: Providing information and assistance to students regarding their accounts, payments, and refunds. (10%)
- Resolving issues: Addressing student concerns and helping to resolve payment related issues. (10%)
- Providing information on financial policies: Communicating the college financial policies to students. (5%)
- Maintain financial records: Keeping accurate records of all fee collections and related transactions. (5%)
- Assisting with accounting tasks: Assisting with other accounting tasks as required, such as verifying student refunds, posting ach payments. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications:
The position requires at least a High school Diploma or GED.
