This position will oversee all aspects of daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production processes, quality control, and team leadership while maintaining a safe work environment in our Newton, KS Trailing Manufacturing Facility.
Essential Functions
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High School diploma or GED required. College Degree in Related field preferred
Required Knowledge
Knowledge of manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations.
Experience Required
Prior metal fabrication or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills/Abilities
Communicate effectively and work with others in a team environment, along with interacting and collaborating with co-workers daily. Strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills are a must. Strong attention to detail. Excellent time management skills, organization, and ability to work under deadlines, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment.
Essential Functions
- Direct all activities related to operations and production in accordance with the business plan.
- Directs the overall production plan for the operation, including managing the day-to-day operations that come with implementation.
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations on the determination of materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs.
- Manages Crew Chiefs, assigns work to staff, provides coaching and training, sets goals, and makes and approves people management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR.
- Oversee Production to ensure safety.
- Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement.
- Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage.
- Approve inventory transactions ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Coach and approve progressive discipline in collaboration with HR that aligns with the culture of the business.
- Demonstrate and promote the company’s core values.
- Manufacturing products according to schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
