Front Desk Dental Receptionist
We are seeking a professional, organized, and friendly Front Desk Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing daily administrative and front office operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Type: Part-Time 24-30 Hours a week
Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour DOE

Key Responsibilities Patient Relations & Customer Service
- Greet patients warmly and create a welcoming office environment
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Address patient concerns and direct questions to appropriate staff members
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits
- Explain treatment costs, payment options, and insurance coverage to patients
- Coordinate financing options when needed
Administrative Duties
- Manage daily appointment schedules for dentists and hygienists
- Verify and update patient information, insurance details, and medical histories
- Process new patient paperwork and consent forms
- Maintain accurate patient records in dental software systems
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and office correspondence
- Collect co-pays, payments, and balances due from patients
- Prepare end-of-day reports and balance transactions
Office Coordination
- Coordinate communication between patients, dentists, hygienists, and assistants
- Ensure the reception and waiting area remains clean and organized
- Assist with patient recalls and follow-up appointments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a dental office or healthcare setting preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures preferred
- Experience with dental practice management software (Dentrix) preferred
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with dental insurance verification and claims processing
- Customer service experience
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Bilingual skills are a plus
