Responsibilities
- Perform PCT duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager.
- Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assist in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
- Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assists in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
- May act as the unit’s receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepares chart.
- Order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back.
- Assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements
- At least one year of experience
- Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician
