Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our dining team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna.

What You’ll Do

As a Server, you will use your menu knowledge, service skills, and attention to detail to help create a positive dining experience for residents.

You Will

• Greet residents warmly and provide friendly, attentive meal service.
• Present menu choices and assist residents with meal selections.
• Take food orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Deliver meals to residents in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
• Serve beverages and assist with dining requests.
• Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming dining areas.
• Clean tables and dining-room spaces before, during, and after meal service.
• Stock products and supplies to established par levels.
• Complete daily dining-service checklists.
• Assist with cleaning the bistro and other food-service areas.
• Follow proper infection-control, sanitation, and food-safety standards.
• Assist with deep cleaning of equipment as scheduled.
• Clean dining-service equipment, including the ice cream machine, according to established procedures.
• Work collaboratively with culinary and community team members to keep meal service running smoothly.
• Respond to resident questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with additional dining-service responsibilities as assigned.
  
  

The position combines resident service, meal delivery, point-of-sale responsibilities, stocking, and maintaining clean and sanitary dining areas.

• A friendly, welcoming, and service-focused personality.
• Previous restaurant, senior living, hospitality, food service, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Previous experience waiting tables or providing dining-room service preferred.
• A genuine interest in working with aging adults.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide courteous and professional service to residents, families, and guests.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependability and consistent follow-through.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities during busy meal periods.
• A positive and flexible approach when resident needs or priorities change.
• Strong teamwork and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to customer concerns or complaints.
• Ability to follow established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
  
  

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous table-service, dining-room, restaurant, hospitality, senior living, or customer-service experience preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced dining environment with strong attention to detail.
• Must be flexible and calm when handling resident, family, or guest concerns.
• Must be able to utilize technology, point-of-sale systems, and available resources efficiently and effectively.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
