What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at Hill Woodworks?
We are looking for an experienced CNC operator (Wood) to run our Weeke Optimat BHP 200, cutting parts for our custom cabinets, countertops, reception desks, and other structures according to customer specifications. Your job will entail working to cut material as nested, per our customer's required schedule. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Candidates will follow all health and safety standards. The goal is to provide quality products, to build lasting relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements.
- Inspect products when complete.
Requirements
- Proven experience as woodworker/carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Understanding of basic math
