CNC Machinist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and mechanical principles to ensure high-quality production standards are met. The CNC Machinist will play a vital role in maintaining efficient manufacturing operations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls and CAM programming software.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to produce precise parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to inspect parts for accuracy.
• Adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
• Assist with setup of auxiliary equipment such as welding tools, power tools, or assembly stations as needed.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities.

Experience

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, preferably with Fanuc controls.
• Strong background in CNC programming, including G-code and CAM software proficiency.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding is a plus.
• Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, calibration of precision instruments, and machine maintenance.
• Experience working in manufacturing environments utilizing Lean principles is desirable.
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, tooling selection, assembly processes, forklift operation, and power tools is advantageous. Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
