What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hi-Lo Driver - Restock Production Line Materials position at Hill Machine Works?
Job Summary:
In this position you will be responsible for keeping the production line filled with material, and taking finished goods away to designated area once complete. A typical day consists of:
- Checking production lines to see what materials are low
- Checking to see what finished good items are ready to pull from the line
- Bringing raw materials to the production line when a refill is needed
- Taking away empty boxes or crates from the line, disposing of such items
Essential Functions:
- Move material throughout the plant either by hand, cart, or forklift to put away stock, pull stock.
- Use Inventory system to build material
- Locate product in a proper location or assign a location
- Responsible for keeping the work centers properly stocked.
- Retrieval of production material in all locations of the facility, including outside locations
- Remove/breakdown any production related waste, i.e cardboard boxes and pallets, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Adhere to the safety and conduct policies.
- Continually look and listen for visual problems.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Forklift experience
- Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch
- Detail oriented, must be able to pull the correct part numbers for the correct lines
- Ability to work with other people in a team environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Mobility is necessary in order to perform assigned functions.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Standard shift: 6:30am to 4:00pm. Eligible for overtime.
PPE: Protective equipment is available and will be required to be worn as the situation dictates.
While performing the duties of this position, employee will be required to stand, walk, and sit repeatedly throughout the workday.
Normal lifting of up to 50 pounds is possible. Mobility is necessary in order to perform assigned functions. Noise level is low to moderate as the work area is a production environment.
