Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections to verify conformance with approved contract documents and applicable codes
- Review contractor work for compliance with specifications, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate daily activities with third-party inspectors and project stakeholders, including ABIA Operations, Environmental teams, City inspectors, and AUS personnel
- Document deficiencies and communicate findings to the Contractor and CDS inspectors in a timely manner
- Support Construction Managers in verifying installed quantities for Pay Applications
- Maintain accurate daily inspection reports detailing work reviewed and observations made
- Participate in change management processes and assist in schedule evaluations
- Navigate and utilize project documentation including design drawings, specifications, Design Standards Manual, and contract terms
- Maintain and organize on-site project documentation, including inspection and test reports
- Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction
- Provide daily inspection of construction work within a given discipline to ensure the project is in compliance with plans and specifications
- Be proactive and alert project management professionals to issues that may come up in the field
- Provide solutions to mitigate those problems
- Observe field work to ensure workmanship and materials meet standards
- Document the work via the daily inspection report and various other reports
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in aviation and airfield construction
- Occasional night-time work may be required based on project demands
