The Community Liaison Specialist is a highly motivated and community-oriented individual. In this role, the Community Liaison Specialist will represent HCMHDDC in initiatives related to community recovery following the May 2022 tragedy at Robb Elementary. This includes working with a diverse group of stakeholders to establish and sustain effective engagement that supports our program's goals and objectives. The Community Liaison Specialist will take the lead in stakeholder engagement, advancing the Uvalde Recovery Program's mission to foster community healing while converting community engagement objectives into practical program initiatives. The core activities of the position include partnership development and maintenance, gathering feedback, and resolving conflicts. The Community Liaison Specialist will also work closely with community partners to develop strategies, build relationships, and facilitate collaboration to achieve common goals.
With the support of the Uvalde Recovery Program Director, the Community Liaison Specialist will analyze data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of community engagement efforts, develop reports to communicate findings and recommendations, identify and address any barriers or obstacles to community engagement, and stay up to date on local challenges, trends, and best practices in community engagement. The Community Liaison Specialist will also work closely with internal teams to identify opportunities to increase community engagement, create events, and develop programs that promote inclusivity, diversity, and social responsibility.

You will get to:
- Developing and implementing communication plans, creating promotional materials, and managing the program website
- Collaborate closely with the Community Training Specialist on the community mental health literacy initiative
- Hosting events, attending community meetings and events, and conducting outreach in the field to educate the public
- Identifying, building, and sustaining partnerships with community leaders, organizations, and community members
- Identifying community needs, collecting feedback, and connecting individuals with necessary resources or services
- Identifying opportunities for collaboration and synergy among community members and stakeholders
- Tracking outreach metrics, analyzing program impact, and maintaining records
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends for community events
You'll definitely need:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services/sociology, public health, communications, or related field with the ability to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-CS).
- A valid Texas State Driver's License.
- Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary.
- Experience working within a team setting.
- Bilingual; English/Spanish preferred.

- Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
