Library/Technology Teacher - Hildreth Elementary School

Job Summary: Hildreth Elementary School seeks a dynamic and inclusive library/technology teacher. Reports to: Building Principal Responsibilities: School Librarian: Developing and maintaining library resources Using equity-centered procedures for selection, acquisition, circulation, and sharing of resources in various formats Promoting the ethical use of information: copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property Promoting a love of reading and lifelong learning Managing the library budget Recruiting and supervising volunteers who help in the library Library/Technology Teacher: Teaching standards-based, vertically aligned library/technology classes to grades preK-5 that focus on 3 core components: Research and information-gathering skills Responsible use of technology and digital citizenship Computer science and hands-on engineering Collaborating with classroom teachers as an instructional partner Qualifications: Current Librarian or DLCS Massachusetts DESE license preferred Classroom teaching experience strongly preferred Experience using instructional technology tools and resources strongly preferred This job description provides a general overview of the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the position of Library/Technology Teacher.
