Job Summary
Family owned and operated business for 70 years currently has an opening for a heavy equipment mechanic. The technician position efficiently and effectively diagnoses and repairs heavy construction equipment to the customer’s satisfaction.
Essential Functions

1. Efficiently and effectively diagnose and troubleshoot heavy-equipment repairs and perform service repairs
2. Work with a computer to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment
3. Read and interpret technical service information, manuals, bulletins, blue prints, and schematics
4. Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations and guidelines
5. Ensure that the service manager is kept informed of completed repairs and communicate any problems or issues found
6. Document and maintain proper records of time spent on each repair
7. Continue service training education to enhance knowledge and service capabilities, and remain current on new technologies
8. Build and maintain adequate level of tools necessary to perform service requirements
COMPETENCIES
1. Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions required. Must have a strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
2. Possess and further develop good mechanical and diagnostic skills and problem-solving capabilities
3. Proficient with Microsoft systems and applications
4. Work well in a fast-paced, demanding team environment
5. Highly motivated and able to work independently with little supervision and with a strict attention to detail
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED
Class C driver's license
Experience in heavy construction equipment diagnosis and repair
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
As this is a full-time hourly position, Technicians are expected to work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and with the possibility of overtime with manager’s approval..
