The Business Development Specialist serves as the primary support role to the Vice President of Sales and Regional Sales Managers in the field. This position is often the daily contact that our customers/Marine Dealers have with Godfrey Marine and Hurricane Deck Boats. It is both an exciting and crucial position to the organization's overall sales process and sales team success. Key to this position is the ability to work with the Regional Sales Manager(s) to maximize market share within their assigned territory by expanding share of wallet in existing dealers and as well as growing the dealer network through new dealer acquisition. This may include cultivating under-performing dealers as required, providing product recommendations, technical training, and boat show support as needed.
Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with the Vice President of Sales to support the overall strategic growth plan
- Support the RSMs; sign new dealers, cultivate underperforming accounts, research and hunt wholesale order opportunities
- Support the Sales Operations teams; obtain wholesale order confirmations, shipping approvals, sales forecasts, and dealer commitment sheets
- Provide Sales Analytics and Data-based recommendations
- Own and manage the Dealer Learning Management System (LMS)
- Represent the company in a professional manner actively promoting the company’s products to potential clients and safeguarding the company’s interests
- Provide retail selling support for dealers
- Assist in defining marketing activities to support Godfrey Marine growth
- Provide sales management support for Godfrey Marine products
- Assist with plant tours
- Provide support to dealers through training, market data insights, and boat show assistance
Skills & Knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience with an OEM
- Ability to Travel up to 75% of the time including overnight stays and weekends
- Boating product knowledge and industry experience preferred
- Track record of building strong relationships with dealer networks
- Sales process experience
- Value selling experience
- Experience working with multinational companies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong working relationships with teams and senior management
- Detail oriented
- Ability to analyze and present data to drive decisions on both product and distribution

Other Skills/Abilities:
- A degree from an accredited college or university
