What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histology Technician or Trainee position at Highlands Pathology Consultants, P.C.?
Seeking a highly motivated Histology Technician or Trainee to join our team at Highlands Pathology Consultants, P.C. located in Kingsport, TN. Preparation of tissue samples for diagnosis to include embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, and special stains.
The position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions:
*Perform basic histology procedures such as grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping
*Perform basic histology manual special stain procedures
*Operate, use and maintain specialized histology instrumentation
*Use pathology computer system to record and retrieve pathology data
*Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the company
Educational/Training Requirements:
Histology experience Required.
Bachelor's Level Degree in Science preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registration Requirements:
HT/HTL (ASCP) registered/registry eligible.
