Job Summary: To provide continuity of care radiopharmaceutical patients, while practicing within the professional boundaries established by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and infusion services to oncology patients in radiopharmaceutical procedures.
- Performs an assessment of all assigned patients, prior to therapy as well as an ongoing assessment during treatment.
- Ability to make independent nursing judgments, which includes triaging patient issues, symptom management, and emergency management. Will take appropriate action when needed in response to triaging patient issues, symptom/emergency management, while collaborating with the physician or APP as needed.
- Coordinate patient care activities with Social Worker and other departments
- Provide and maintain patient confidentiality and maintain confidentiality regarding clinic matters.
- Adheres to clinic standards, policies, and procedures, as well as being cost effective.
- Maintains high standard of professional performance, behavior, and appearance. As well as functions as a professional role model to co-workers and students.
- Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
- Attends bi-monthly nursing meetings or reads the minutes when unable to attend.
- Collaboration and communication with multiple departments for organization and navigation of patient care needs.
- Assist with all areas of the radiopharmaceutical procedures including referrals, intake, obtaining outside medical records, preauthorization, scheduling, and education.
- Complete calls to patients as necessary for scheduling or education with proper documentation.
